Throughout the day, we will center our experience around our essential question: “How can we best leverage coaches across our system for maximum impact”?
Coaching teachers of mathematics is new, challenging, still rather undefined, and often misunderstood. This all-day workshop will explore practical strategies for "assertive coaching" where coaches co-plan, co-teach and co-reflect. More specifically, we will:
ensure a vision of effective teaching and learning of mathematics guides your program;
examine and discuss specific strategies for being a more effective coach;
discuss strategies for enhancing the quality of PLCs and team meetings;
explore the elements and techniques of effective debriefs; and
- examine our coaching practices in light of our own and our teachers' comfort zones.
