Shadow Elk Grove's embedded Professional Learning, with a focus on three teaching strategies: Read 2 Ways, Math Talks, and Modes of Response. Be a part of a mini version of Lesson Study incorporating these strategies. 

Ask 2-3 coaches to attend this full day experience! 

Learning Objectives

The purpose of this Opt-In experience is to help all attending districts make further sense of these essential questions with cross-district colleagues, and to support the effective design and implementation of Professional Learning across districts. 

Essential Questions

  1. What challenges does infusing vision into professional learning address? 
  2. How does infusing vision into professional learning cultivate a coherent, district-wide vision for mathematics learning, facilitate common understandings of prioritized instructional shifts, and build individual teacher and group capacity to enact those shifts? 
    1. For example, how can infusing vision into professional learning reveal information useful for improving student to student discourse?
  3. What needs to be in place for infusing vision into professional learning to be an effective strategy towards those desired outcomes?
