Observe and learn how to deepen teaching practices for writing in math! During this 2nd workshop of 3 professional development meetings, a group of eighteen 7-12th grade teachers is developing practices to teach students to improve their mathematical writing using the six criteria for quality responses as detailed by Patrick Callahan of the Callahan consulting group.  Teachers will learn new approaches, work with student work, and the day will end with a demo lesson by two math instructional coaches to illustrate the practices.  Elk Grove has had one cohort of 14 teachers complete the professional learning in the fall and this is the second round.  It is aligned with their district-wide Framework of High-Quality Instruction with a focus on articulating and teaching toward a shared success criteria for students. Cohort 2 attendees will participate in part of the workshop, observe classrooms and debrief with district mathematics leadership to learn about the development of this professional learning opportunity.

RSVP by February 25th (next Monday!) using this form.  We require you send 2 people from your team if you wish to attend (Limited to 6 participants so commit now!)
